The existing Fisherman’s Community Hospital is currently out of commission as it got damaged from Hurricane Irma.

 MGE was awarded the project! The project is a one-story building, around 35,000-sf, that will be designed to resist high category 5 hurricane loads from winds up to 248 mph in lieu of code wind speed of 186 mph. The building will be elevated to be above the site flood elevation. Estimated design and construction period to be 18 months. Currently, the community is being serviced from a temporary hospital pods that are located on site and will remain operational until the new hospital is opened.
